Message I am sharing my experience. Which is almost identical to another TT.net members experience that was logged in 2008.

I purchased the Z1 built up auto transmission and had it installed by a local shop. Once assembled....we discovered the transmission has no low gear. The reason....the inhibitor switch and arm are NOT the Nissan standard. Z1 looked over photos....called the person they farm this work out to....and replied " we are not sure where this switch cam from....but just take the switch off your old transmission and swap it and see if that fixes it".

I thought I was purchasing a rebuilt and quality checked product. I thought that buying using Z1 ( the Z performance specialist) that I would be doing the right thing versus going to a standard tranny shop. I thought that with a problem like this...they would send me a new inhibitor switch and offer to give me a store credit for the additional labor I have to pay the shop now. Instead....I get "we are busy getting ready to go to Z days here....let us know if changing switch works". I guess I won't see them at Z days since my car won't shift out of 3rd.

The below is the text from another TT.net member in 2008.... Similar issue. I should have researched this first and called G. Dupree. Hard lesson learned.

Copied from 2008:

So i recently got an upgraded auto transmission from Z1 for my MPV. When i got it, it originally had an issue. IT was in a fail safe mode and it didnt matter what gear i put the shifter in (D,2,1) it acted all the same. It turned out that the inhibitor switch was bad, i am not sure how it got out of there with this issue, you think they might check it. But, at least they sent me a new inhibitor switch free of charge, which is the least they could owe me after only crediting me $150 for my core on the transmission.
as most of you know it is a $400 core charge for the transmission which i willingly paid. once i got the new tranny i sent my old one back and waited a long while to hear that they received it. I talked to Josh who was very helpful, and the only one on the phone who was at all helpful, and i was not going to get back any money but he felt bad so he credited me the shipping it took me. he said my planetary gears were bad and that it would cost them more to fix.

well whopdie freaken do. Im still out $400 which i could have cut in half if i had scrapped it myself. its complete crap if they are going to charge a core and not refund it. For anything i have ever done in the past the core charge is there as incentive to return your product, not too expensive, but not too cheap to so people dont just throw it away. Like batteries for instance. they have a core chrage on some of them and you can get that back when you return it even if its all corroded and wont recharge.

I am just writing this to express my displeasure in their way of doing business, and the complete disregard for the fundamentals of a core charge.
